The Blue Springs Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association exists to bring together graduates of the Blue Springs Citizen's Police Academy that will work to develop, promote, and improve a partnership between the police department and the community; to provide education in law enforcement issues, crime prevention, and public safety; to support and assist the Blue Springs Police Department however requested.

Youth Police Academy
The Blue Springs Police Department has begun the Youth Police Academy. The YPA will be a
5-week program with weekly meetings lasting two hours each. The hand-on academy will give students a look into what real police work is like with curriculum including: tour of the police department, crime scene investigation, Firearms Training System (F.A.T.S.), CPR training and certification and an introduction the BSPD K-9 unit. Citizens Police Academy
The Blue Springs Citizens Police Academy consists of a 9-week course designed to give residents an inside look at how the police department operates. The course runs on a week night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and concludes with a graduation ceremony on the final night.
