The Blue Springs Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association exists to bring together graduates of the Blue Springs Citizen's Police Academy that will work to develop, promote, and improve a partnership between the police department and the community; to provide education in law enforcement issues, crime prevention, and public safety; to support and assist the Blue Springs Police Department however requested.
New Blue Springs Youth Police Academy
Beginning April 13, 2010 the Blue Springs Police Department will begins its first Youth Police Academy. The YPA will be a 5-week program with weekly meetings lasting two hours each Tuesday. The hand-on academy will give students a look into what real police work is like with curriculum including: tour of the police department, crime scene investigation, Firearms Training System (F.A.T.S.), CPR training and certification and an introduction the BSPD K-9 unit. Citizens Police Academy
The Blue Springs Citizens Police Academy consists of a 9-week course designed to give residents an inside look at how the police department operates. The course runs on Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and concludes with a graduation ceremony on the final night.
